Installing Fonts
A quick guide to installing your downloaded fonts on any device.
Most fonts download as a .zip file. Unzip it first to reveal the .ttf or .otf font files, then follow the steps for your device.
Windows 10 / 11
1. Unzip the downloaded file. 2. Right-click the .ttf / .otf file. 3. Choose Install (or Install for all users to make it available to every account). The font is ready immediately in apps like Word, Photoshop and Figma. You can also drag font files into Settings → Personalisation → Fonts.
macOS
1. Unzip the file. 2. Double-click the font file — Font Book opens with a preview. 3. Click Install Font. The font is now available system-wide. To manage fonts, open Font Book from Applications.
Linux
For your user only: copy the font files into ~/.local/share/fonts (create the folder if needed). For all users: copy them into /usr/share/fonts. Then refresh the cache with fc-cache -f -v.
iPhone & iPad (iOS / iPadOS)
iOS does not install fonts directly from Files. Use a font-installer app from the App Store (such as iFont) to create a configuration profile, then approve it under Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → Profiles.
Android
Android does not support system-wide custom fonts without root. Many apps (like design and document apps) let you import fonts inside the app instead. Check your app's settings for a "custom font" or "import font" option.
Using fonts on a website
For the web, convert your font to .woff2 and load it with an @font-face rule in your CSS for the fastest performance. Always confirm the font license permits web embedding first.
